Often, the uScopeGX extends the slide tray — partially ejected — before scanning. What is the reason for this?
The image data used for flat-field processing times out after a few minutes and must be reacquired. This is the cause of the partial slide tray ejection you are witnessing.
The uScopeDX has removable slide trays which include a hole (or holes) near the end of the slide. The uScopeDX positions the objective(s) above these to recalibrate the flat-field data.

The uScopeMXII has a fixed slide tray which is not removable. It includes a hole near the end of the slide where the objective is positioned to recalibrate the flat-field data.

There is nothing wrong with your uScopeGX. This is a normal part of its operation.
