Summary

Exhaustive Stack Scan SettinguScope Navigator v4.5 introduces a streamlined method for changing the settings for the Exhaustive Stack focus method.

Prior versions of uScope Navigator only provided focus settings on the Device Options screen. Version 4.5 provides a more intuitive method of adjusting these settings.

Details

uScope Navigator v4.5 has a redesigned user interface that offers additional features and controls for scanning slides.

When selecting the region(s) of interest to scan, a new Focus Settings button allows you to alter the default settings for the selected focus method. You may change these parameters to suit your requirements.

  • Initial — Range
    The Initial Range specifies the range (above and below the initial focus point) to scan for best focus of the initial field.
  • Turnaround — Range
    The Turnaround Range specifies the range (above and below adjacent focus points) to scan for best focus of the first field in each column.
  • Run — Range
    The Run Range specifies the range (above and below adjacent focus points) to scan for best focus.
  • Run — Steps
    The Run Steps specifies the number of steps to move the objective for each image in the focus stack. The number of steps is based on the objective magnification and NA.

Note
Changes you make in this dialog become the new default focus settings.
