Question
How can I change the overlap settings used when scanning a region of interest?
Answer
The overlap settings are stored under Device Settings — Scan Options — Field Overlap Settings. The overlap method specifies how scanned images are overlapped.
- Overlap to Stitch (default)
This option creates jobs with overlapped adjacent images that may be combined to form a large image of the scanned area. This is the best option to select if you need to create large images from your scans. - Tiled
This option creates jobs with images that are not overlapped. Images from these jobs may not be combined into a large image. This is the best option to select for jobs that create images for automated or third-party analysis tools. - Custom Overlap
This option allows you to manually specify the number of pixels of overlap for adjacent images. This option may be useful if you use third-party image stitching programs or image processors.
When you select Custom Overlap, you may specify the number of pixels of overlap for the X and Y axis.
- X Overlap
This option allows you to specify the number of X pixels (length of the slide) to overlap when the Overlap Method is set to Custom Overlap. You may specify a negative number to leave a gap between images. - Y Overlap
This option allows you to specify the number of Y pixels (width of the slide) to overlap when the Overlap Method is set to Custom Overlap. You may specify a negative number to leave a gap between images.
