I have selected PNG for the Image File Format in Program Options—Application Preferences but the Deep Zoom image tiles are still saved as JPG files. How can I cause the Deep Zoom images to be saved as PNG (lossless) images?
Different versions of uScope Navigator exhibit slightly different behavior when creating Deep Zoom images.
In uScope Navigator v4.3 and earlier, the Image File Format option affects only the file format of the scanned image fields. When the Deep Zoom image is created, the field images are stitched and overlaid. Then, the Deep Zoom bottom layer tiles are cut from the composite, stitched image and saved as JPG files.
uScope Navigator v4.5 uses the Image File Format option when creating the images for the Deep Zoom pyramid. So, if the PNG format is selected, Deep Zoom image tiles are saved as PNG images.
uScope Navigator v4.6 introduces a separate file format option for Whole Scan (Deep Zoom) image tiles. Refer to Deep Zoom Tile File Type for more information.
Unfortunately, there is no way to output PNG files for the Deep Zoom tiles in uScope Navigator v4.3.
