Summary

In uScope Navigator v4.5 and earlier, Deep Zoom Image tiles are saved in the same file format (JPEG or PNG) as the scanned field images.

Starting in uScope Navigator v4.6, the Deep Zoom Image tile file format may be specified in Program Options—Whole Scan Image options.

Details

Setting Deep Zoom Tile TypeDeep Zoom Image tiles are typically saved as JPG images as a trade-off between performance and disk space. uScope Navigator v4.6 allows you to select whether these files are saved as PNG or JPG images.

  • PNG images are lossless and consume more disk space than JPG images.
  • JPG images are smaller and load faster than PNG images. JPG images are saved at a Q90 quality setting.

Note
It makes little sense to specify the PNG image type for Deep Zoom tile images if the Field Images are saved as JPG.
