Question

How do I apply gamma correction to images?

Answer

The Filter Manager allows you to create a sequence of filters you may apply to:

  • Images captured by the Overview Camera
  • Images captured by the Objective Camera
  • Fields used to create a Whole Scan Image (Deep Zoom, SVS, Tiled-TIFF, or SZI)

One of the filters you can apply is the Gamma Correction filter.

  1. Click Filter Manager in the uScope Navigator Side Bar.
  2. Create a new filter
  3. Select Overview, Objective, or Deep Zoom
  4. Add a new Filter
  5. Select Gamma
  6. Adjust the Gamma slider to your preference.

Note
The Objective Filter is used when browsing or scanning a slide. For best results, browse the slide with only the flat-field (FF) filter selected and save two or three representative images. Then, in the Filter Manager, load them and compare the before and after images to view the effects of the filter sequence.
