Question

I understand that the uScope Navigator software requires the calibration data for my uScope to scan and browse slides. I have a few questions about the calibration files.

  1. Where are the calibration data files stored on my PC?
  2. How does the software know if I connect a different uScope?
  3. How many uScopes can I connect to my PC before it runs out of space for calibration files?

Answer

  1. Calibration File Folder. Where are the calibration data files stored on my PC?
The calibration data files are stored in the C:\ProgramData\Microscopes International\uScopeNavigator4\ folder (as shown on the right). Each uScope's calibration data is stored in a folder named Dev-XXXXXXXX where XXXXXXXX is the Hardware ID of the uScope. You can find the uScope Hardware ID on the Device Info Tab of the Device Settings Dialog.
  2. How does the software know if I connect a different uScope?
Each uScope has a unique Hardware ID. Once connected, the uScope Navigator software uses the Hardware ID to select and apply the calibration data for that specific uScope.
  3. How many uScopes can I connect to my PC before it runs out of space for calibration files?
The short answer is: as many as you like. The calibration data for each uScope is stored in a separate folder and a PC can support a virtually unlimited number of folders.
