Program Settings

Information in this article applies to:

Article ID: NPF2393 — Created: 24 Oct 2021 — Reviewed: 25 Oct 2021

Summary

When scanning and creating deep zoom images, uScope Navigator saves two distinct image sets:

  • Field Images
  • Deep Zoom Image Tiles

uScope Navigator includes separate file format selections for each. For example, if you want the field images saved as JPG, you must be sure to select the image format from the correct dialog.

Details

Both selections are found in the Program Options panel.

  • The format selector for Field Images is found under Program OptionsApplicationImage File Format.
  • The format selector for Deep Zoom Image Tiles is found under Program OptionsWhole Scan Image OptionsTile Type.

By default, JPG images are created for both field images and deep zoom tiles. However, you may prefer to save the field images as PNG (which are compressed but lossless) vs JPG (which are compressed and lossy).
