When scanning a slide, I only need to create a single, large whole slide image. I don't need the original field images or the deep zoom pyramid image. Is there a way to avoid creating these files or to delete them entirely after I have scanned my slide?
When you scan a slide (or a region of interest), the uScope takes a picture of each field, moves the objective, and takes a picture of the next (adjacent) field. These fields overlap a little to aid in stitching the images together to form a large, contiguous image.
There is no capability in the uScope Navigator application to delete these images. However, you could create a script that deletes them after a Tiled TIFF image is created.
If you do not want the Deep Zoom (Open SeaDragon) image to be created, do not select it when creating the whole slide image (as shown in the image to the right).
You can make this the default setting on the Program Settings — Deep Zoom Options tab in the Program Settings dialog.
