Symptom

I need to save my scanned slides in a lossless image file format. I understand that the PNG format is lossless.

When I select the PNG (Portable Network Graphic) Image File Format under Program Options—Application Preferences, and subsequently scan a slide, images are saved in the JPEG file format.

Cause

This is a known problem in uScope Navigator v4.3 that is corrected in uScope Navigator v4.5.

Resolution

To resolve this problem in uScope Navigator v4.3, exit and re-launch uScope Navigator. Scanned fields will be saved as PNG files.
