Question

I have created a deep zoom image in uScope Navigator. Now, I want to publish it on my web site. What do I need to do?

Answer

When you create a deep zoom image set, uScope Navigator makes a new folder for the deep zoom images and other required files. This folder is named DeepZoom-??? where ??? is the name of the filter applied when creating the deep zoom image. If no filter was applied, the folder is named DeepZoom-unfiltered.

The following files (and folder) are found in the deep zoom folder:

  • DZINFO.XML
contains details about the scanned region of interest. Information from this file is extracted by the viewer and used to create the info popup and for calculating image scale.
  • DZVIEWER.XML
contains filter information to use for the viewer.
  • DZOUTPUT.XML
is the data file for the image set. It contains details like the size and image format of the deep zoom image.
  • DZOUTPUT_FILES
is a folder that contains the pyramidal image set. It includes a folder for each layer of the image set pyramid.
  • DZTHUMBNAIL.JPG
is a fixed size thumbnail image of the scanned region.
  • US-OVERVIEW.JPG
is an overview image of the whole slide with an outline around the scanned region.
  • US-KEY.JPG
is an exact image of the scanned region.
  • MIDZ.HTML
is the HTML file that contains the deep zoom viewer.

You must copy all of these files and the DZOUTPUT_FILES folder to a new folder on your web server. You can rename the MIDZ.HTML file to index.html or default.htm or whatever your web server requires.

Once all files have been copied, simply reference the new folder and MIDZ.HTML file (or whatever it was renamed) in the URL.
