Image Viewer Image Export Sometimes Fails
Image Viewer

Information in this article applies to:

  • uScope Navigator V4.6 and Earlier
  • uScope Navigator V4.7 and Later

Article ID: NVW2369 — Created: 11 Mar 2021 — Reviewed: 10 Aug 2022

Symptom

On occasion, when exporting a region of interest from a deep zoom image in the Deep Zoom Image Viewer, the image is not created and no error or warning message appears.

Cause

This issue occurs when the size of the image exceeds the allowed maximum size for the particular image type (BMP, JPG, PNG, etc). Due to complexities in calculating the exact maximum file size for various image types; there is no single, simple calculation that can be applied to all file types.

Resolution

  • uScope Navigator v4.6 and earlier exhibit this problem.
  • uScope Navigator v4.7 and later present an error message when the file is not created or saved.

If you encounter this issue, reduce the image size or increase the image scaling (move from 1:1 to 2:1) and try to save the image again.
